Week 6 – October – Holding hands – road safety

Holding hands is the basic road safety rule for children and needs to be constantly reinforced. It is important that children and parents/carers understand that this means staying close to the adult on the footpath at all times, as well as when crossing the road. If hand cannot be held, then children should hold onto a buggy, bag or coat of the adult.
